Andrew Vincent’s Snow Shake

As some of you know, I am a fan of Andrew Vincent’s music. His stuff is quirky, fun and smart, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s from Ottawa, and is a friend of a friend.  Anyway, I happened to be reading the Ottawa Sun a few days ago, and in a Best Music of 2006 article, one line caught my eye: “Andrew Vincent’s song for Old Navy”. I started wondering if that was the same Andrew Vincent, so I wandered over to his blog on MySpace and lo and behold, there it was. Andrew wrote a song that got used for an Old Navy TV commercial.

So, here you go, the TV spot with some of the song.
The whole song was available for download on his MySpace page but now I see that it’s gone, unfortunately. I wasn’t able to grab a copy for myself, but I did hear it without the annoying voice over and it’s damn catchy.  Do yourself a favour and buy yourself some sweet Andrew Vincent for yourself.  You’ll thank yourself.

I’d like to table a motion…

I have seen it around the webs lots lately, so another me-too post of this thing just can’t hurt.

I would suggest that this table is probably the coolest piece of furniture I have ever seen. There’s just nothing quite like it. Click on the videos and watch this baby move.  It’s like furniture porn (never thought you would read that sentence, eh?).

Video #1

It’s made by a company with one of those web sites that finds it vulgar to put an actual price up for people to see. It’s like a “If you have to ask you can’t afford it” thing. Still, way way cool table.

30 in 30

If you remember a while back when I posted about some online Flash cartoons that were pretty funny and cool, the same artist has posted a series of 30 cartoon shorts in 30 days. They are very good, some of them are silly and some of them are gross. Check them out for yourself, there’s some serious talent here.

Some of my favourites are: Dry Lip, and Clifftop. All good stuff.

Evil Genius Creates World-Destroying Blender

Here’s a great angle on marketing your product.  This company makes incredibly powerful blenders for home and commercial use, they have had some fun around the office by trying to blend lots of things, and someone in the office (very smartly) decides to start taping these things and put them on the web in a sort of video blog.  It’s so smart, I am jealous.  It’s entertaining and immediately makes people start talking about your product (which to be honest looks like no other blender I have ever seen, this thing is maniacal) and instantly generates buzz.  So smart.

Have a look at this thing in action, it’s a little scary how easily it makes dust out of anything; marbles, golf balls, a whole coke can, etc.  Too fun to watch.  It certainly proves to me just how good these blenders are, that’s for sure.  I want one, for no real reason other than the ability to make cochicken whenever I want.  Yum.
I saw this first on Gizmodo

Can anybody explain this?

I challenge you to find a more captivating minute and a half of video than this. It just doesn’t get any better than this, really.

Little Superstar

It’s a strange world, folks. I would give a lot to know what they are saying, because there just has to be a reasonable plot-line that explains what the hell is going on in this movie, right?
