Nikki made me blog this adorable kitten, but I didn’t want to…

There’s a certain compulsion when you spend time on the Internet as I do, to post video of cute kittens.  I don’t agree with it, but it’s kind of like dealing with mosquitos when you spend time in the bush, you just ignore it and move on.  This is particularly cute though.

Enjoy.  Saw it on Boing Boing of course.

Bohemian Mupsody

This absolutely made my day yesterday, along with about 42 kazillion other people on the Internet.  Hard pressed to find a Muppet that isn’t in this one; Janice shreds the guitar solo, and even that crazy bomber guy makes the cut.  I had no idea that they were still doing new Muppet stuff, is that an American thing?  I don’t own any Queen anymore, lost to some format shift or another.  This video is probably enough to make me drop a couple bucks and get a greatest hits…

Mamma!  Mamma?

Enjoy.

52 Pickup

He sold his soul to the devil, there’s no other explanation for what this guy can do with a deck of cards.  This makes what I do when I shuffle cards look like smashing them with a big rock.  Several things come to mind:

  • never play cards with this guy
  • he needs to get out more, or needs to stay home more, can’t decide which
  • holy wow

Enjoy:

They Might Be Giants – Here Comes Science

They Might Be Giants (who until now I had never actually heard) released a kids CD called Here Comes Science, and it’s happy, catchy, and scientifically accurate.  Good lord, but this makes me happy.  It will be purchased for my kids by the end of the day.  My geeky heart overflows with joy.  The band website has lots of good stuff, but I stole the links for these videos and they are brilliant, check ’em out.

GO and get it on iTunes or Amazon. Go on. Go ahead, I’ll wait here.

I saw this on Boing Boing first, as usual.

Johnnie Walker Stroll Through Time

I hate scotch as a rule, unless you top it up with coke and ice, which makes Wilson queasy, but this ad for Johnnie Walker is spectacular.  If I told you it was about 5 minutes long and described the history of the company through time you would never click the link.  It’s not boring, trust me.  It appears to be a single take, with some good timing and swagger on the part of the narrator (Robert Carlyle) who has a wonderful accent, and as AdFreak says, some gratuitous bagpiper abuse.  It’s the sort of thing that makes you a fan of the company even if you have no previous attachment to them, like me.  I couldn’t find an embeddable video, but if you go to JohnnieWalker.com and select your country as United Kingdom you can see the link which is called The Man Who Walked Around the World (bottom right).

Love that ad.

Saw the whole thing on Neatorama first.
